One of the things I found extremely useful at the start of my dyeing (and spinning) experiments was to try different fibres to see how they took the colours and what sort of yarn they produced when spun up. I didn't always want large fibre samples for trialling small amounts of dyestuff and I wanted well prepared fibre, especially at the start, so that I could concentrate on learning to spin and appreciate the characteristics of the breed/blend without wrestling with a poor prep.
With all this in mind I have put together two taster packs with beautifully prepared fibre from John Arbon for you to spin and/or dye with. I have tried to mix the packs so that you get a variety of experiences. Of course if you love one (or several!) in particular you can order larger quantities from the JA website.
